Ten Myths of Global Warming

the globe (Earth) melting

Although there is no scientific evidence that man-made CO2 causes global warming, the deceit propagated by the left in regard to this issue continues. The most common lies related to man-made global warming are incorporated in the following myths that are meant to control and manipulate the masses into believing that climate change is actually happening due to man’s influence.

Myth 1: Global temperatures are rising at a rapid, unprecedented rate.

Accurate satellite observations made over the last three decades have not shown any significant change in the long term rate of increase in global temperatures.

Myth 2: The "hockey stick" graph proves that the earth has experienced a steady, very gradual temperature increase for 1000 years, and recently began a sudden warming period.

Changes in the earth’s climate have taken place throughout the plant’s existence due to natural/cyclical cycles.

Myth 3: Human produced carbon dioxide has increased over the last 100 years, adding to the Greenhouse effect, thus warming the earth.

There is solid evidence that while temperatures move up and down naturally and cyclically, in part due to solar radiation, the warming surface layers of the earth's oceans also then expel more CO2 as a result. So, blame Mother Nature and not man.

Myth 4: CO2 is the most common greenhouse gas.

Greenhouse gases form about 3 % of the atmosphere by volume. They consist of varying amounts of water vapor and clouds (about 97%), with the remainder being gases like CO2, CH4, Ozone and N2O.

Myth 5: Computer models verify that CO2 increases will cause significant global warming.

Computer models can be programed to "verify" anything by changing some of the five million input parameters or any of the multitude of negative or positive feedback data the program uses; Incorrect data in, incorrect data out.

Myth 6: The UN has proven that man–made CO2 causes global warming.

You should know that in a 1996 report by the UN on global warming, two statements that had appeared in previous drafts were erased from the final document:

  • “None of the studies cited above have shown clear evidence that we can attribute the observed climate changes to increases in greenhouse gases.”
  • “No study to date has positively attributed all or part of the climate’s change to man–made causes”

Myth 7: CO2 is a pollutant.

This is one of the biggest lies the left would have you believe. Nitrogen forms 80% of our atmosphere, however, man could not exist in a 100% nitrogen environment. Carbon dioxide is no more a pollutant than nitrogen. You need to be aware that CO2 is essential to life on earth.

MYTH 8: Global warming will cause more storms and greater weather extremes.

There is no scientific or statistical evidence whatsoever that supports such claims on a global scale. In fact, hurricanes and tornadic activity have decreased in recent years.

MYTH 9: Receding glaciers and the calving of ice shelves are proof of global warming.

Glaciers have been diminishing and growing cyclically since the earth’s origin. Recent glacial melting is a consequence of our planet moving out of a very cool period known as “the Little Ice Age”.

MYTH 10: The earth’s poles are warming, polar ice caps are breaking up and melting, and sea levels are rising.

The earth is, and always has been variable. The Western Arctic may be getting insignificantly warmer due to cyclical warming in the Pacific Ocean, but the Eastern Arctic and Greenland are getting colder. The small Palmer Peninsula of Antarctica is getting warmer, while the main Antarctic continent is actually cooling.
