Paul McCartney Says Carbon is Destroying the Arctic

In an article for the Huffington Post, Sir Paul McCartney, expert on anything environmental, discussed the changing environment over the past forty years and states, “By digging up fossil fuels and burning our ancient forests we’ve put so much carbon into the atmosphere that today’s astronauts are looking at a different planet.”

Specifically claiming that the Arctic Ice Shelf has shrunk in the past four decades, what Sir Paul neglects to mention is the fact that while the Western Arctic may be getting warmer, the Eastern Arctic and Greenland are actually getting colder. Ice masses in Antarctica and Greenland are growing, not shrinking.

Also, Sir Scientist Paul seems to have forgotten that carbon dioxide levels would be the effect of global warming and not the cause. Carbon dioxide levels only move AFTER a change in temperature.
