No Money for Embassy Security in Libya, But $108,000 for Chevy Volt Chargers in Embassy in Austria

In a story almost too unbelievable to fabricate, on May 3rd, 2012, the State Department denied a request by special operations forces in Libya which would allow the Libya-based Special Forces to continue the use of a support aircraft vital to maintaining the level of security needed for safe US embassy operations in Libya. Ambassador Chris Stevens was copied on the State Department email denying the request in an email titled “Termination of Tripoli DC-3 Support.”
Just a short four days later, the US State Department was busy authorizing the purchase of a $108,000 “electric vehicle charging station” for the US embassy in Vienna, Austria. This purchase was a part of the US government’s “Energy Sweep of Europe”, which included hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on similar “green” projects at various western European embassies.
It’s not enough that American taxpayers have to waste hundreds of millions of their tax dollars on Barack Obama’s “green
initiatives”, but now, some of America’s finest, dedicated to protecting our nation and her interests, have to die for President
Obama’s green initiatives as well.
