Manure Becomes the New Carbon Cash Cow

In the continuing saga of your tax dollars flushed down the toilet (pun intended); dairy farmers are being encouraged by the federal government to earn carbon credits by destroying cow manure.

According to ABC news, “Under the Carbon Farming Initiative, the Government says dairy producers will be able to earn carbon credits if they capture and destroy methane and other greenhouse gasses emitted by manure.”

But the Carbon Belch team is troubled that the federal government favours cows over pigs. Pig farmers can only earn carbon credits by reducing the emissions of their pig’s manure, not destroying it.

There goes the saying, “It’s not worth crap!”
